Estremismi Centristi Sinistrorsi Politicamente Orientati

Non fatevi ingannare dall’arrangiamento “potente” (buuuttènti, avrebbe detto Fazendino da Sassari) di questo brano e nemmeno dal titolo.

Ci sono canzoni che dicono cose leggere con arrangiamenti seriosissimi, e canzoni che dicono cose pesantissime con arrangiamenti leggerissimi e tonalità in maggiore. Se poi te le dicono in una lingua che non comprendi, siamo al top. Dategli un mese di heavy rotation su quattro stazioni radio, una marca di un qualche prodotto che riprende il pezzo come musichina per la pubblicità e sarà successa una di queste due cose:

• un testo profondo e dal significato essenziale per la vita di chi l’ha scritto (e sicuramente importante per diversi di quelli che lo hanno ascoltato) viene completamente azzerato
• un testo oltre i limti dell’idiozia, magari scritto perché per contratto l’autore era obbligato a produrre un disco in due settimane se no la casa discografica lo licenziava, diventa inno nazionale

Selling Jesus è secondo me un brano molto sottovalutato, che fa parte della colonna sonora di un film valutato giusto (per ascoltarne un pezzo nel trailer del film, vedete qui…arriva a 2’12”).

Se Johnny Cash fosse ancora tra noi, potrebbe riarrangiarlo in chiave Country come fece con “Personal Jesus” dei Depeche Mode, e sarebbe subito più ascoltato.
Ma provate a superare la apparente barriera “der chitarone”, e ascoltate ciò che dice, per non parlare delle notevoli rifiniture di basso.

NdR: a due giorni a Roma fatti in un certo modo si sopravvive, ma non se ne esce indenni!
