The JBCM Mission to Groningen: How did it go?

Between June 27 and July 2 a delegation from the Jug Band Colline Metallifere composed by Jack O’Malley and Mauro Tirannosauro attended the ninth Living Knowledge conference in Groningen (The Netherlands). The scope of the mission was to give an art-based presentation (i.e. a “ConcerPT”) to present the JBCM project to an audience of scientists and educators. You can find the abstract of our proposed presentation in this article.

This was also the first appearance of Mauro Tirannosauro at a Conference: he was introduced to several experts and project managers, and he is now evaluating an intercontinental T-rex tour in 2023.

The presentation took place on the second day of the conference. On Day 1 Jack, following the program proposed in the presentation abstract, managed to recruit a number of participants who had musical instruments with them. Flo from Leipzig and Jako from Groningen actually performed in some of the songs of the presentation. At the end of the day, the same band also proposed a little street music session also materialized just outside of the Harmony Building:

Mauro Tirannosauro also had the possibility of interviewing one of the conference organizers:

After a night train trip returning to Milano, Jack reached Dario and Simone in Cassine (close to Alessandria), for a concert….so: concerts + concepts = concerPTs.

More events with the Jug Band Colline Metallifere in its full formation, also including Wolfgang Scheibe and guests, will be taking place in July and August (and more activities are being planned after the Summer). The Summer events will be in Tuscany: if you, your friends or acquaintances will be travelling in the region, and you are interested to reach on of them please contact us.
