BMP data used in scientific paper

Some of the measurements acquired by Francesco Giubbilini in the BMP project have been used in an article by Fabio Falchi

The peculiarity of these measurements is that they have been taken in the same location with and without snow

The article was published at the end of 2012 in the Monthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society: “Campaign of sky brightness and extinction measurements using a portable CCD camera” it may be downloaded here.

The first BuioMetria Partecipativa fixed SQM station is active

The first fixed SQM Station installed by the BuioMetria Partecipativa project has been running for some ten days. The station is measuring data night sky brightness every two minutes, in parallel with data from a small weather station.

At night the readings can be displayed in real time. The time series are then stored in our database for subsequent analysis

The BuioMetria Partecipativa data are available in KML format, for immediate visualization via Google Earth (or any other software reading the KML format ).

Each point has the place name, the average SQM reading and the number of measurement taken at a given location. For a full access to the parameters associated to each measure, you should then refer to our main database.
