Creator and producer of awareness raising and promotion activities integrating cultural and environmental issues, with a focus on communication and participatory processes. Among other initiatives: “Palla 21 from Tuscany to Chicago” (www.palla21.it), the “M(')appare Milano” campaign (www.gfoss.it/mapparemilano), the participatory dark sky quality monitoring “BuioMetria Partecipativa” (http://www.pibinko.org/bmp), and the photographic contest “Between Dusk and Dawn” (http://www.pibinko.org/tramalba).

Three years of experience (2002-2005) as a teacher of Italian as a foreign language.
Work experience in universities, science parks, public sector, and private companies.
Participation in projects on different scales: from small communities in very local environments (small Tuscan villages), to European or global operations (international cooperation in the Mediterranean area, EU projects, large multinational consulting and engineering programs).
In time, I have been interacting with people and experts with an extremely diverse background (economists, engineers, sociologists, archaeologists, computer scientists, and citizens).
I have three years of experience as workgroup leader for a team of 20 people in a multinational company.
Currently acting as Facilitator for one of the working groups in the INSPIRE European Directive
Since 1993 I have been active in the field of Geographic Information Systems, applied to numerous domains (contaminated site studies, industrial park promotion, utility network surveys, water resources management, text mining, etc....please refer to http://www.pibinko.org/gdw/index.php?l=en
I have skills in programming, analysis, image processing, and web applications (since 1996).
Since 1993 I have been using open source solutions.
Citizen science coordinator for the biodiversity work package of the ENVIROFI project (7th European Research Framework Program)
I have about 30 publications/presentations on the above mentioned topics.
Since 1998 I have been providing training, tutoring, and awareness raising on geographic information systems, on a more sustainable use of information technologies, and on the relationship between people and technology.
Under the name of “Quinto Quadrante” (Fifth Quadrant) since 2006 I have been producing short videos, either as fiction, or as documentation/promotion for the initiatives mentioned above.
